Matt Czuchry

Biography

After entering the College of Charleston on a tennis scholarship, Matt Czuchry was persuaded by his drama teacher to change his major to drama after just one lesson. Matt Czuchry’s natural flair for acting and performance swiftly led him to the role of Sean McGrail in the WB series Young Americans, starring alongside Kate Bosworth.

Earning critical acclaim for his performance, Czuchry gained traction with roles in Golden Globe-winning series The Practice, 2002 blockbuster Eight Legged Freaks (starring alongside Scarlett Johansson and David Arquette) and a feature in Primetime Emmy-winning series Friday Night Lights.

Czuchry’s first motion picture lead came with the role of Morris Bird III in 2002 teen movie Swimming Upstream. It was this part that led Amy Sherman-Palladino to cast Czuchry as Logan Huntzberger in the popular dramatic comedy series Gilmore Girls, a role that would introduce the actor to a wider audience and lead to further success.

A consistent and reliable presence within the television industry, Czuchry landed the role of Cary Agos in highly acclaimed crime drama The Good Wife, a show that’s been lauded critically, picking up Golden Globe, a Primetime Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Most recently, Czuchry can be seen starring as young doctor Conrad Hawkins in 2018 series The Resident.
