Biography

American comedian Faizon Love can be seen in some of the most popular comedies of the 90s and is best known for his performances in “hood” films such as The Meteor Man, Friday and Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. After carving out a niche within this beloved subgenre, Love’s immediate audience appeal soon prompted invites to star in blockbuster comedies such as B*A*P*S, Elf, The Replacements, Made and Couples Retreat.

A naturally gifted comedian, Love took up comedy from a young age, performing his first stand-up set aged 15. By the age of 19 he had landed a part in an Off-Broadway show, making his motion picture debut in animated comedy Bébé’s Kids soon after. His evident talent paved the way for bigger productions, gradually building a reputation as a household name with an irresistible comic flair.

An ever-present figure within American pop culture, Love has lent his iconic voice to the character Sean “Sweet” Johnson in award-winning video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and made guest appearances on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, My Name is Earl and in the 2015 sitcom Black-ish. More recently, he can be seen portraying legendary musician, songwriter and record producer Maurice Starr in the highly acclaimed biopic The New Edition.
