Biography

Tyler Posey is an American actor and musician best known for portraying Scott McCall in the MTV series Teen Wolf. Aside from a highly successful acting career, he has found acclaim as part of the pop-punk trio PVMNTS.

Posey’s first on-screen appearance came with an uncredited role in the 2000 Robert De Niro film Men of Honor. He continued working with Hollywood legends over his subsequent performances, acting alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Collateral Damage and Jennifer Lopez in Maid in Manhattan. At this point in his career, Posey was considered for the role of Jacob Black in Twilight, but the role was eventually given to Taylor Lautner. Although Posey has since continued to appear in American cinema, he has found most success as a television actor.

In 2001, Posey was cast as a main character in Doc alongside Billy Ray Cyrus. Through the 2000s he appeared in various shows as a guest star, including a seven-episode stint on Lincoln Heights. 2011 saw Posey find his breakthrough role in MTV’s television series adaptation of cult teen movie Teen Wolf, playing heart-throb and lead character Scott McCall. Posey also served as a producer and a director throughout the duration of the series.

Since departing from Teen Wolf, Posey has landed recurring part on 2017’s Jane the Virgin and a central performance in comic-book series Marvel Rising: Initiation. Set to appear in upcoming TV series Now Apocalypse and Scream, he is making a return to the supernatural with a leading role in CW’s vampire series The Lost Boys.
