Naveen Andrews

Biography

Appearing as Sayid Jarrah in the 2004 hit series Lost, Naveen Andrews won the hearts of viewers across the world while receiving critical acclaim with Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actor.

Classmate to Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Naveen Andrews embarked on his career as a screen actor after landing a role in Hanif Kureishi’s 1991 movie London Kills Me. This would act as a stepping stone for Andrews, paving the way for leading roles across the British film and television industry, including UK comedy Wild West and TV mini-series The Buddha of Suburbia.

Andrews established his presence as an actor with the role of Kip in the 1996 drama The English Patient, along Ralph Fiennes and Willem Dafoe. Winning over nine Oscars and fifty other awards, it was the motion picture that would shoot Andrews to stardom. Andrews has since acted alongside stars such as Jodie Foster in The Brave One, Rose McGowan in Planet Terror, Naomi Watts in Diana and Stephen Lang in Reckless.

More recently, Andrews can be seen in Netflix’s sci-fi series Sense 8 and 2018 crime-drama Instinct. Andrews has also worked as a voice actor, portraying the Far Cry character Sabal and earning a BTVA Video Game Voice Acting Award nomination for his performance.
