Emmy-nominated performer, singer and songwriter Mark Ballas is known for his bold, daring and creative choreography. More than ten years ago, Mark stormed onto the US scene by captivating a huge audience of nearly 20 million people with his work on the ABC hit show Dancing with the Stars. As a key part of the professional cast for 18 consecutive seasons, he became a firm favourite with fans of the show. Regularly picking up the coveted mirror ball trophy, Ballas went on to triumph in the finals twice with Kirsti Yamaguchi and then Shawn Johnson.
Away from the show, Mark has also been enlisted to work on choreography for major clients such as Diet Pepsi, choreographing their advert starring Sofia Varga. Ballas is classically trained, having attended the legendary Italia Conti Performing Arts School, graduating with honours, and is talented across many fields, including acting, singing, and instrumental performance. He has taken key roles such as the lead in the musical Copacabana and in the UK National Tour of Maria de Buenos Aires, and acted as an understudy for the lead performer in Buddy, The Buddy Holly Musical, a production that won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
Next to this he has guest starred on TV shows such as Melissa and Joey and Samantha Who?, Kinky Boots on Broadway, and often performs in a group called Alexander Jean alongside his wife, BC Jean – the duo are best known for writing Beyonce’s smash hit single ‘If I Were A Boy’.
