Dwain Chambers

Biography

British track sprinter Dwain Chambers is a well known sporting personality who has won plenty of medals at world and international level. He is an athlete with many talents and is one of the fastest ever men over short distances, and as such is a real boon to any public event or function where. Born in London in 1978, Chambers primary event was the 100 meters and he ash the fourth fastest ever time for the discipline amongst Brits. He is the European record holder for the 60 metres and 4×100 metres relay events with 6.42 seconds and 37.73 s respectively.
Dwain is from a family of sports people and soon shot up the junior ranks. He first made a debut on the world stage at the Seville World Championships and then the Sydney Olympics and attained a new personal best. The 2000 Sydney Olympics saw Chambers come close to the podium without actually winning a medal, and he was the fastest European in the Games. He did pick up gold medals at the World Indoor Championships many times, as well as at the European Champion-ships, and after fighting back from a drugs ban has competed at the highest level once more as well as gaining a professional contract with German NFL Europa side Hamburg Sea Devils in March 2007.
