One-half of the famous Van Tulleken twin brothers, Dr. Chris van Tulleken is a British doctor, virologist, and TV personality. Outside the field of medicine, he’s most famous for appearing in the ongoing educational British children’s television series, Operation Ouch!, teaching children about the human body and medicine. Airing on CBBC since 2012, the show has received multiple Children’s BAFTA awards. Van Tulleken has also worked on the 2019 BBC Two documentary, The Twinstitute, and completed a two-part social experiment show for BBC One called The Doctor Who Gave Up Drugs, addressing the subject of prescription pill abuse.

The Oxford-trained doctor is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology. He’s taken part in several charity and fundraising efforts, including the London Marathon for Doctors of the World and Medical Emergency Relief International, and has also presented and participated in several BBC science programs including Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, Cloud Lab, Blizzard: Race to the Pole, Museum of Life, Hacker Time, and Medicine Men Go Wild.

Included in shortlists for ShortList Magazine’s Male Icon of the Year, Dr. Chris Van Tulleken is one of the most recognisable figures in British medicine. He continues to connect with fans across a range of televised roles as he furthers his HIV and Infectious Diseases research and academic career.
