Andy Torbet

Biography

Should you be looking for an adventurous explorer to come and present an award, speak at an after dinner event, host a charity function or appear on your TV or radio show then Andy Torbet is a popular choice. He is a talented underwater diver, skydiver, extreme adventurer, climber, underwater explorer and kayaker who has years of experience of speaking, writing and presenting to a range of audiences. In all he has been published over 80 times and has written for FHM and Diver as well as putting out his own book.
Andy has ten years experience in the British Forces as a Diver, Paratrooper and Bomb Disposal Officer. He has commanded the Army’s Underwater and Airborne Bomb Disposal Teams as well as the High Risk Search Team of the Maritime Counter Terrorism Unit and was sent on missions to places including Iraq and Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Afghanistan. Andy has a degree in zoology and a diploma in archeology and is a member of MENSA, with a wide range of interests and specialist subjects. A true explorer, he has discovered a number of lost shipwrecks from WW2 merchant-mans in the cold, dark water of the English Channel to 18th Century warships off uninhabited islands in Southern Patagonia. He has been on the BBC on shows like The One Show to talk about his fascinating life and always inspires, educates and amazes his audiences. As such there are few finer explorers and adventurers to talk about life in extreme situations than Andy Torbet.
