Cornwall born Sir Richard Dearlove is Former Chief of MI6 and Master of Pembroke College Cambridge and is now an in demand guest speaker who delivers fascinating and insightful talks. He was Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service from 1999 to 2004 and after thirty years in the British Intelligence service had done and seen it all. He served as a frontline officer in places like Paris, Geneva and behind the Iron Curtain and was a station head in Washington DC as well as overseeing the completion of the renowned HQ building on the River Thames in London. During his tenure he was Director of Operations during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the 9/11 attacks and a terrorist attack on SIS’ headquarters.
As such he is no stranger to dramatic events and to dealing with them in a calm and professional manner. He now talks and lectures on all this, as well as National Security Issues and World Affairs, to international audiences who hang on his every word.
