After being raised in Dublin, Ireland, talented chef Rachel Allen left home at 18 and went to the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School to study her trade. Since then she has graduated through the ranks to now be a busy TV chef, journalist, author, mother and teacher at Ballymaloe Cookery School. Rachel has put out many cookery books, including the high selling likes of Rachel’s Favourite Food at Home and Rachel’s Food for Living, and she also fronts her own much loved and hugely popular TV series on RTE, which is also shown on the BBC as well as being broadcast internationally.
Also on the BBC, Rachel regularly appears on Saturday Kitchen and has a comfortable, relaxed and charismatic air about her when in front of the cameras. A talented columnist and writer for many different magazines, such as The Sunday Tribune magazine, Rachel herself is often the subject and plenty of great features in a wide range of media outlets. A mother to two sons and a daughter, Rachel’s cooking style is simple and accessible, practical and delicious. She takes her foodie influences from countries and cultures around the world and also from more local regions, and he has been described as an Irish Queen of cooking. With a big fan base around the UK thanks to her much loved TV shows, Rachel is a hugely popular chef who lights up any event, programme or occasion. She lives in a home by the seaside in County Cork in Ireland.
