Two Door Cinema Club features singer/guitarist/programmer Alex Trimble, guitarist/singer Sam Halliday, and bassist/singer Kevin Baird. Trimble and Halliday met in school and later connected with Baird through mutual friends. The trio began writing in Trimble’s parents’ garage and skipped going to university to focus on the band. Fortunately, the gamble paid off – the band’s self-released debut EP, Four Words to Stand On, was released in January 2009 to positive reviews and music blog buzz, which grew with the release of its lead track Something Good Can Work.
Following the release of Tourist History they continued to evolve, landing in the Top 2 of the UK chart with their sophomore album Beacon (2012). Subsequent releases – Gameshow (2016), False Alarm (2019) and Keep on Smiling (2022) – all landed in the top 10 of the UK charts, cementing the band as global arena performers and festival headliners.
Most recently, in 2024, the band embarked on a sold out 30-date amphitheater tour across the United States, finishing the year in style with a sold-out Australian arena tour that culminated in an incredible performance at the iconic Sydney Opera house.
Two Door Cinema Club have cemented themselves as a band for the ages, festival headliners and live favourites across the world.
Their hit What You Know was recently honored by Spotify with 1 billion streams globally.
